REFRESH Food Waste 2017 Conference Video

The multistakeholder conference "REFRESH Food Waste 2017" took place in May 2017 in Berlin (Germany). It brought together leaders in food waste prevention, reduction and valorisation and featured keynote addresses by Dr. Maria Flachsbarth and Vytenis Andriukaitis.

REFRESH partners presented the latest project results and ongoing work. The winners of the REFRESH Food Waste Solution Contest presented their projects. The Conference also featured an innovator fair, two art installations, an improvisational theatre performance, two real-live pigs, and a "Disco Chop" evening.

Framework for Action: Selection Process

This report records the progress of four European countries (Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain) in the establishment of Frameworks for Action to tackle food waste along the whole supply chain.

Framework for Action Hungary

The Steering Committee of the „Food is Value”- Forum Against Food Loss and Waste has agreed on the main goals and priorities set out in the Framework for Action document. The document goes on to outline how these priorities will be addressed through project targets and project measurement, as well as the core responsibilities of the platform members.

The REFRESH Food Waste Solution Contest was launched in 2016 and received over fifty project submissions from across Europe. The aim of the contest is to recognize groundbreaking projects and ideas addressing food waste.

On May 19th food waste stakeholders met for an interactive Food Waste Innovation Incubator Day. The workshop followed the the REFRESH Food Waste 2017 Conference on 18th May.

REFRESH kicks off in China with Food Waste Forum: Multi-stakeholder Platform on Sustainable Food Supply and Consumption for Food Waste Reduction

Over 100 professionals from government, the business community, science institutions, non-governmental organizations and international organizations gathered in Beijing on November 26th 2016 to launch REFRESH in China and promote the knowledge-sharing initiative for the global measurement and reduction of food loss and waste.
