Since its last “Steering Committee” meeting on 6 October 2016 the German Pilot Working Platform (PWP) started to take action. Member companies initiated individual baseline activities with first insights expected in April 2017. Furthermore, the PWP discussed the priority areas for Germany and how these could be addressed through targeted interventions.
The Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) presented an up-front prepared logical map, which helped to jointly prioritize potential action areas. The three top scorers included collection of data / impact measurement; employee training; consumer campaign. On this basis, ideas for piloting food waste reduction activities in the framework of REFRESH have been concretised with PWP members. These will be shaped up in the 4th meeting of the Steering Committee on 6 April 2017 in Wuppertal, to enable implementation in the course of this year.
