13 Member States and EEA countries are already covered by the preliminary inventory. These countries include Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom, Norway, Turkey, Ireland and Spain (GROUP A). Data was gathered in EU Member and Associated States covered by the consortium, drawing on existing literature, the consultation sessions during the FUSIONS multi-stakeholder platform meetings and other publicly available information. The overview of relevant EU legislation and policies can be found here.

To further the ambition to reduce food waste and increase the resource efficiency of Europe’s food system, it will be particularly important to exchange knowledge, ideas and best practices from the policy/legislative perspective.

This consultation is particularly important considering that the new Circular Economy Package, foreseen for December, should set the context for more ambitious goals in terms of food waste reduction at the European and national level.

Your expertise and inputs on your country’s food waste legislation, policies and initiatives will bring a real added value to the country reports and it will contribute towards achieving a efficient and effective food waste policies across the EU.
