The Swedish Collaboration Group for Reduced Food Waste (SaMMa) is an open forum for Swedish actors interested in food waste. The meeting on October 25 was attended by 33 participants representing, industry, retail, NGO, Academy and consultants and policy bodies as well as several social entrepreneurs.
The forum is managed by Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, Swedish Board of Agriculture, and National Food Agency, Sweden in collaboration. It meets twice a year.
Karin Östergren and Emma Holtz represented SP Technical research institute of Sweden and the REFRESH project, which was presented by Karin Östergren. They also presented the Food Waste Solution Contest and encouraged entrepreneurs to apply.
Other program points were the final report from the Nordic project on date marketing which was presented by Hanne Møller from Østfoldforskning. The new Swedish data set on food waste from June 2016 was presented, an overview of the EUs work on food waste was provided along with country specific news from the policy side. The meeting ended with a workshop aimed to provide input to which actions to be taken by Swedish policy makers to reach the goals set up in Agenda 2030 and the SDGs on food waste.
