Registration is open for the REFRESH Food Waste 2017 Conference, 18 May in Berlin.
Public Award for REFRESH Food Waste Solution Contest is open between 1-28 February 2017.
The multi-stakeholder conference at the Umweltforum in Berlin, Germany will bring together champions of food waste reduction and valorisation for a day of presentations, discussions, interactive sessions and networking. Alongside these, participants will be inspired to re-think the issue of food waste with a performance by an improvisation theatre group, a food art installation and a catering concept that supports a sustainable food system. At the conference’s Innovators’ Fair, food waste innovators will present their projects and insights with a poster or stand.

In the evening of 18 May 2017, a public event organized with REFRESH partner Feedback Global is further set to be fun and thought-provoking with a delicious meal cooked entirely from food that would have otherwise gone to waste. Dinner guests will be "edutained" with stimulating, interactive art and lively audio-visuals showing how diverse and exciting solutions to food waste can be.
On 19 May 2017 a “Food Waste Innovation Incubator Day” will take place, co-hosted with the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and their initiative "Too good for the bin!". The Incubator Day is carried out in collaboration with the Food Surplus Entrepreneurs Network. This workshop will bring food waste innovators and experts together to learn from each other, develop solutions to food waste issues in the food chain, and improve cooperation. Due to limited capacity the event is by invitation and/or application only.
