The REFRESH Community of Experts (CoE) is a knowledge-sharing platform which seeks to promote best practice, foster discussions and improve stakeholder engagement. The website compiles initiatives in food waste prevention and reduction, which are categorised and tagged for easy user accessibility. At the same time, the website facilitates dialogue and collaboration between stakeholders.
One year on from its launch on World Food Day 16th October 2017, the CoE now has over 375 registered experts, with more than 160 resources uploaded to the website over the past 12 months.
The CoE received an average of 556 monthly visitors in the first year who were able to access the wide range of resources.
Since the site launched, it has received over 6,000 users and 25,000 page views.
The site is now set to get even busier as the EU Platform on Food Losses and Food Waste has recently decided to use the CoE as its main source for new and updated food waste prevention web content. Organisations that currently have information in the 'Good practices in food waste prevention and reduction' page of the European Commission website should now resubmit resources to the CoE.
