Buffet restaurants, cafés, bakeries etc. have to predict their demand in advance and often end up with unsold portions that eventually and unfortunately become waste.

People want inexpensive, quick, quality food, but don't know that nearby restaurants would have just that available, and instead end up cooking themselves or buying either bad quality or expensive food. ResQ Club fixes this information mismatch and notifies nearby customers about an opportunity to buy the portions that would otherwise go to waste at a discount.

ResQ is super simple for both the provider and the user and can be used on any modern device with a web browser. They payment is handled in the app and the user comes to the venue to pick up the portion as a take-away meal at a time that best suits their schedule.

Since January 2016, we've gotten over 600 provider partners on board, out of which 300 publish their surplus portions every week. They get a sustainability boost to their brand, new customers to visit their venue and also extra revenue from a resource that has previously been considered waste. We charge them only based on realized sales so hopping a board is risk-free.

Our users love the app - they save both time and money and as a bonus discover new restaurants. As a result, our retention figures for both app usage and purchases are well above industry standards.

Already 125000 portions have been ResQ'd from going to waste unnecessarily. However this is only a start, we aim to change the food service industry for good to get rid of serving surpluses altogether.

We have a strong tech, support and sales team in Finland and have a network of awesome people pushing ResQ forward in new markets.

ResQ has been a huge success in Finland, but there's no reason it couldn't work also elsewhere. Now we're already on our way testing ResQ in various countries to figure out the best places where to focus our next steps.
