PHENIX provides businesses with waste reduction services and raises the potential of their waste. Using an innovative digital application & a range of B2B services and tools, PHENIX facilitates the second life of products as in-kind donations to charities, animal feed (for food unfit for human consumption), compost or material to produce biogas. PHENIX is a creator of recovery channels mostly for food but also for nonfood products that were intended to destruction. Our solution is based on 2 pillars: • Digital apps: Innovative web platform & mobile app connecting in real time offer and demand of surplus, like a B2B web market place • Collaborative field work to guide our partners towards “Zero-Waste” (training, 24/7 operational & administrative support, regular field visits, change management, awareness raising campaigns) PHENIX integrates the end-of-life product in the value chain and renews the concept of rubbish in the supply chain. PHENIX has already achieved major improvements in the retail industry. Historically focused on hyper and supermarkets, PHENIX now also provides innovative solutions for small-sized supermarkets, whose unsold products were not recovered by charities due to the low quantities and the geographic dispersion. 2 services: - Sales of disqualified (“out of spec”) products under new brand “Ugly Mugs” (Food and non-food products) - Optimization of (existing) in-kind donation programs and management of alternative recovery channels (animal feed, second hand networks, recycling, compost, biogas, etc) Since March 2014 : - 50 food waste fighters - 4 countries (45 members in France + branches in Spain, Portugal & Denmark) - 350 stores on a contract - 2.4 M€ of equity raised in 2 series - 6 million meals distributed - 4 000 tons of products recovered Everyday, PHENIX is: - 13 tons of donated products - 16 000 meals redistributed by our partner charities
